Summer is the time for kids to get up, get out and grow. But for some kids, exposure to activities that stimulate the body and mind ends with the school year. In fact, research shows that kids are prone to gain weight and fall behind in studies. P.E.A.C.H. People Eating and Cooking Healthy-Teaming up with The Food Trust, this SNAP-ed funded community collaboration focuses on cooking healthy, local food that is both delicious and affordable. Parents of preschoolers will learn six skills every child should have before they begin kindergarten.  Terry Thomas, who will lead the workshop,  is an experienced early childhood educator involved in many aspects of early care and education for young children. The Allentown Y is a distribution site for the Rodale Institutes Agriculture Supported Communities (ASC) Program which is a pay-as-you-go farm share program where community members commit to pick up a share of mixed seasonal organic produce on a weekly basis for 6 months of the year. 23rd Annual Russell Miller/Danny Danko Memorial Golf Outing
